Istanbul Summer Tea Garden

The Istanbul Summer Tea Garden is an art and community project in the heart of Neukölln, Berlin.

Over four sundays in August 2012 the Tea Garden -inspired by Summertime in Istanbul- was serving tea and snacks with live entertainment, all the while creating a sense of belonging and community.

Istanbul Summer Tea Garden as a meeting place for strangers, old friends and families. A space for exchange and play using the daily human behaviours that connect us as people. At the heart of the event was the social warmth, music, the sharing of tea, backgammon games, the smile of a stranger, great service by the youth of the neighborhood and conversation menus in Turkish, German and English.
